From a young age, I have always been attracted to the adventure of learning new things. I am full of intellectual curiosity. I often excel when I am told I cannot do something and seem to always find a way. My professional life began in sales, selling tools and appliances. Wanting more out of myself, I thought that mechanical engineering would be a great fit considering that I grew up taking everything apart, fascinated with how things work. I set my sights on Virginia Tech engineering.
In 2010, armed with a mechanical engineering degree, I was offered a paid position as a graduate research assistant where I could pursue a master's degree while working on self driving mechatronics for the Marine Corps and Office of Naval Research. It was in this roll where I gained a strong electromechanical skillset.
After graduating with a master's degree, I accepted a position in corporate manufacturing development. Over the last decade in manufacturing, I have learned a tremendous amount about business systems, capital investments, management of resources, services, hiring, and team building. Although rewarding, I decided to resign from a stable job and predictable career progression for the opportunity to acquire, operate, and grow a business. I have long had aspirations of owning my own business, and feel that I am finally in a position where I can do so.
Outside of work, I am an avid mountain biker and hiker. My wife Lauren and I enjoy exploring wilderness areas with our two dogs, Loki and Ruca. We are both excited about relocating to a new community.
